課程概述 |
學習如何閱讀英文期刊文章、透過分析已出版之工科期刊文章,學習撰寫文步及慣用英文寫作表現、練習如何在三分鐘口頭報告裡有效地傳達研究之重點、特色與成果 This course will consist of two hours of lectures/class discussions and an hour group discussion/ writing task practice. At the end of the semester, students should finish an individual essay and a collaborative SPSE project, making use of the moves and techniques that they have learned from the course. In addition, students should be able to apply their presentation techniques to presenting their research/project within 3 minutes. |
課程目標 |
This course will train students to critically read and write an academic journal research paper in engineering studies. The course will consist of an introduction to English academic writing and to the framework of each part of an engineering academic paper. The course will also train students to make a 3-minute oral presentation of their research. 此類課程使用本中心研究團隊所研發的教材,內容著重在分析整理一般學術論文寫作的文步與寫作特性。讓學生在邁向專業寫作之前,能熟習學術論文的基本架構與技巧。學生在課程中,也會學習摘要、段落及評論文章的撰寫計巧。此外,口頭報告的訓練,也是此類課程的特色之一。 |
課程要求 |
1. Students are required to attend all classes. No more than three excused absences are permitted.
2. Active participation in class discussions is required.
3. Writing assignments are carefully scheduled as stages toward the fulfillment of the course’s objectives. Late assignments will not be accepted. |
